Cristina Duarte

Behaviour Support Practitioner

Cristina brings over a decade of experience in the care sector, with the past three years dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities and complex behaviours. Her work is grounded in a deep commitment to person-centred practice, compassion, and helping people live meaningful lives.

Cristina’s journey into Behaviour Support was a natural progression from her earlier roles in high-care dementia settings, where she provided leadership and empathetic support in challenging environments. Her ability to build trust, understand individual needs, and respond with tailored strategies has made her a valued practitioner in the field.

Cristina holds qualifications in Law, Aged Care, and Mediation, and continues to pursue further learning to deepen her practice. She is passionate about understanding behaviour through a trauma-informed lens and believes that every person deserves to be supported with dignity, respect, and evidence-based approaches.

Outside of work, Cristina enjoys going to the gym, cooking, travelling and spending time with her family. Her personal philosophy, “through challenges we learn, through knowledge we grow” guides her work and her life. Cristina is driven by the belief that strong relationships and shared understanding are key to helping individuals achieve their goals and thrive.

Cristina supports the Shoalhaven and Illawarra regions:
